My Journey Into 3D Mixed Media Art
Welcome to WonderWalls Art
I never imagined that a simple YouTube search about my cockatiel bird would unlock the magic I now shape with my hands. But that’s exactly how my journey began. I was trying to learn more about my bird’s behavior looking for answers, connection, something small and instead, I stumbled upon a video that changed everything. I wasn’t looking for art. But art found me.
That moment sparked something deep inside, a pull to create, to shape, to imagine. It led me home to myself.
My creative path didn’t begin in galleries or studios. It began with a feeling. A magnetic desire to build with my hands, led by emotion and fueled by curiosity. Through passion and persistence, I taught myself to sculpt on canvas and wood.
Wire mesh is one of the foundational materials I use, layered with resins, pastes, fabrics, metallics, and acrylics to construct dimensional works that move, shimmer, and tell a story.
Working with raw, unyielding materials is demanding, sometimes punishing, but it’s also liberating. Wire mesh tests my strength and my patience. Every bend and cut is deliberate. I build slowly, intuitively, piece by piece, until what was once flat becomes alive with form and presence.
WonderWalls isn’t about filling a space. It’s about giving it a pulse. A presence. A kind of magic.
I believe art should stir something deep within a memory, a question, a sense of wonder. It should elevate the space it lives in and leave an impression on the heart.
Through this blog, I’ll share more than what I create; I’ll share why.
You’ll get a peek into the inspiration behind the textures, the quiet beginnings of bold pieces, and the things that move me to make. From process to poetry, from nature to intuition, I invite you into my world.
This is just the beginning, not only for my blog, but maybe for your imagination too.
If you believe in beauty beyond words and treasures hidden in texture, you’re in the right place.
With love and wonder,
Corina Manno
